How do I activate the contactless functionality on my card?

You must first make a contact transaction (i.e. CHIP and PIN) before you will be able to tap your card to make contactless payments.  This is a security feature that prevents someone from fraudulently using your card while it is on its way to you.

You can do a maximum of 5 consecutive Contactless transactions, when you reach this limit you will need to use chip and pin to reset the counter. This limit is set forth by The Second Payment Services Directive (PSD2).
